Dr. Shevin Jacob, a UW acting assistant professor of allergy and infectious diseases, is consulting with the World Health Organization in Monrovia, Liberia. He's part of a team that openedĀ a new Ebola treatment unit on Oct. 31 at the former Ministry of Defense compound. This unit adds 200 more beds to the almost 500 currently available for Ebola patients in the Liberian capital, which remains the epicenter of the outbreak.
